While he is known by a variety of aliases, Glenn Meganck is an author, ghostwriter, and musician. With an interest in piano and poetry as a child, the love for creating is what fueled Glenn’s passion for pursing the arts as a full-time career. He dabbles in a bit of everything, from writing light mystery novels to rock songs, and maintains an important balance of creation between them all.
As his books span across multiple genres, Glenn is an advocate for the use of pen names in order to differentiate his work personas from one another, as well as direct the audience to what kind of book they are reading. “Your name sort of becomes your label,” he remarks, “They [readers] know you’re buying a certain name that they’re going to get a certain kind of book, right? If you buy a James Patterson book, you know what kind of the vibe and feel and language are going to be, right?”
Even though he has been immersed within the traditionally published world for a long time, Glenn also highly regards self-publishing, as it can be more accessible for authors to get their work out and into the world than traditional publishing.
He stresses the importance of writing for passion rather than for money. “You’ll find your audience,” he says. “Instead of trying to be like everybody else…don’t be afraid to be different. Don’t be afraid to say what you feel.”
